A resident of the historical Hydrostone area in Halifax for
many years I know the conveniences of being close to so much that downtown
living offers. The downtown core offers for your enjoyment so many
culturally diverse opportunities like
Neptune Theatre, Symphony
Nova Scotia, The
Maritime Conservatory of the Performing Arts with it's stellar Lillian Piercy
Hall, the
Music Room, The
Art Gallery of Nova Scotia. This is but a sampling of what is available.
As a previous resident of Mineville, a 25 minute drive from downtown, I know
the obvious advantages of living outside the city too. There are many fabulous
beaches, lakes for kayaking and swimming, great hiking trails, bird watching
and more either in your backyard or just moments away.
My personal interests include the fine and the performing arts, ethnic cooking
and international travel. As a hobby and as a quiet balance in my life I enjoy
oil painting. I have two Abyssinian cats and they rule the house.
My volunteer work includes:
- Past President of Youth Alternative Society, NS Dept of Justice
- Conflict Resolution Mediator with Youth Alternative Society
- Fundraising with the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Youth Project
- Presently a member of the Board of Directors for the Maritime Conservatory
of the Performing Arts
